Back after a very long, very strange 12 months, it’s Adé A. Cônnére! You may recall meeting her via our blog last year, #HowIHashtag: Meet Ade.

Adé sings, writes songs, acts, and performs extraordinary work across the stages of Seattle and beyond. And she has a live show coming up with Bijoux, a brand-new disco duo project, with Artists Behind Glass:

“Excited about our very first live in person show as Bijoux! We will be serving up some Disco delights for the Artists behind Glass Series at Vermilion! A great way for artists to perform live and still socially distance. Friday April 16th at 7pm!”

We believe in our shared humanity. And so, our stance on current events that matter to all of us who work for or own Hashtag Cannabis is: Black lives matter. The killing of Black people must stop. The violence against Black people, perpetrated by the police, must stop.

In addition to believing in our shared humanity, we at Hashtag believe that actions speak louder than any of our words.

The great Adé A. Cônnére is more than a multi-talented artist; she is a force of nature. She is an actress, a singer, a musician, and an activist. Her demure glamour is matched only by her playful sense of humor.

She’s equally at ease turning a jumbo-sized bingo wheel with a smart quip and a loud laugh as she is listening intently, even quietly, to a new friend over pizza.

We photographed Adé at Re-bar where she works as a bartender on March 3, 2020, just after Re-bar celebrated their 30th anniversary. Since 1990, Re-bar has been an icon for underground music, alternative theater, and the LGBTQIA/QTPOC communities of Seattle.
