At Hashtag, we believe trust is more than a checklist. It's a feeling.

That's why we spend countless hours vetting every product that we sell in a rigorous selection process we call Hashtag Certified.

Through this process, we ensure that we only do business with the most reputable companies in the industry and only carry products that meet the highest possible safety standards -- so whenever you buy a product at Hashtag, you know it's going to be the cleanest, safest and best cannabis product your money can buy.

  • First, we distribute samples of the potential brand to our budtenders.

  • Then, if the reviews are positive, we ask the brand reps to describe their operations, their growing methods, if any material is outsourced or hemp-derived, and what integrated pest management practices they use.

  • If they clear all the steps of our detailed review process the last and most important step-- bring the product to our shelves for you to enjoy.

Budtender Tested and Approved! We try it all before we sell it to you.

Many other cannabis retailers do not offer these samples to their budtenders to review, simply leaving it to their buyers alone to sample and choose (left to right: Shannon, Chris, and Brianna in 2019).

How We Choose Our Partners

  • When our purchasing team requests samples from potential partners, we then distribute these samples to our budtenders for their review and, potentially, their approval. Many other cannabis retailers do not offer these potential vendor samples to their budtenders to review, simply leaving it to their buyers alone to sample and choose.

  • We ask each vendor to describe their business operations in detail.

  • We also ask to be notified of any changes in company practices within seven calendar days, so that we will always be up to date with our partners’ practices.

  • Then, our purchasing team moves on to more questions about each company's practices that are specific to what types of products that vendor offers for sale in Washington state, including:

    • If any cannabis flower, concentrate, or extracts ready for infusion into edibles or beverages are outsourced from other vendors, what measures do you have in place to ensure the safety of said cannabis material before you include it in your brand’s products?

    • What growing medium do you (or the outsourced wholesaler) use?

    • What nutrients are used, and when are they introduced in the plant’s life cycle?

    • How long is your flush cycle?

    • What is your curing process?

    • What is your complete plan for integrated pest management?

    • Which (if any) pesticides are used during the plant’s life cycle, and when are they introduced?

    • Which lab do you trust for your pesticide testing needs?

    • Do you use hemp-derived CBD, and if yes, where do you source it?

    • For all edible or ingestible products, do you clearly state all ingredients used in said products? Do you clearly state any common allergen ingredients on your packaging? Do you clearly state on the packaging how to use said product? Do you have a website where customers can reach out with questions?

  • Finally, we list all integrated pest management practices on our website for every partner we carry, here

  • Upon request, we gladly will provide our guests with copies of the Certificate of Analysis results for any and all products we carry for sale. These certificates are the lab results that disclose what precisely a state-certified third-party lab found inside each product we sell.

Highest Quality at the Finest Prices

We choose to be proactive in how we share accurate information about our partners’ offerings with our team and with all our guests. Here at Hashtag, we seek to always improve our understanding of the products we carry, and one way we accomplish that goal is by taking a closer look at our partners’ operations, growing and production methods.
