Kief infused brownies are the perfect gift for Santa this year!

Ah, the holiday baking season has finally arrived, and there is nothing I love more than to get baked and bake a TON of goodies.

This holiday season, since we are staying safely at home, I decided to make some tasty kief infused brownies to enjoy this Christmas Eve from the comfort of my couch.

There are a bunch of tasty ways to make kief infused brownies, and I someday strive to make them completely from scratch; however, this year, I decided to keep things simple and use a boxed brownie mix … with a plant-based twist.

Recipe Instructions for Kief Infused, Plant Based Brownies

For this recipe, you will need a few simple ingredients:

  • 1 gram of kief,

  • 1 boxed brownie mix,

  • ¼ cup of water,

  • ⅓ cup oil, and

  • 1 egg (or ¼ cup of applesauce)

Use applesauce in place of the egg to make it 100% plant based brownie recipe! I know swapping applesauce for an egg may sound odd, but I promise you it tastes exactly the same and adds even more gooey, moist goodness to the finished product.

Mix Your Dry Ingredients First

To make sure the kief is properly infused throughout the brownie mix, it is important to mix the dry ingredients first.

  1. Grab a bowl, empty the contents of the boxed mix in, and sprinkle the kief evenly throughout the top of the mix.

  2. Then, take a spoon and stir rapidly for a minute or so to make sure the kief is evenly distributed throughout the mix.

Next, Mix Your Wet Ingredients Into The Dry

  1. Mix in the oil, water and apple sauce until the batter looks fully mixed.

  2. Ooof, and if you are a stoner like me, you may have forgotten to preheat the oven! Don’t worry, there is still time. Set your oven to 350 degrees (or whatever your mix dictates).

  3. Meanwhile, lightly grease your brownie pan, and add the batter.

  4. Once the oven is preheated, pop it in, and set a timer for about 35-40min. While the brownies are baking, I love to take this opportunity to load a nice bowl of flower and enjoy a toke ... or two.

Once the timer goes off, check to make sure the edges of the brownies have separated from the pan.

And if you like them more gooey like me, I usually pull them out a few minutes early!

Finally, out of the oven they come … and holy cow, absolute perfection.

How Much THC Is In Each Kief Brownie?

If you used your own kief from your grinder’s kief catcher, it will be difficult to figure out the edible dose of these tasty brownies. Please be sure to CUT THE SERVINGS VERY SMALL because you won’t really know the THC content in each brownie.

If you buy a prepackaged full gram of kief, then you can easily do the math and figure out how much THC each serving contains.

I made a quick stop by Hashtag to grab Emerald Jane’s Blue City Diesel kief — 1 full gram is only is only $12, and it’s the perfect amount for this recipe!

The kief I grabbed tested at 57.9% THCA. That means, once the kief’s THCA is activated in the oven and converts to THC, the total THC content for the entire batch of kief brownies is roughly 570mg THC.

Then, you take the total number and divide it by the number of servings.

For my batch, I only had a 10” round cake pan on hand, so my servings came out a little larger than usual. I ended up with 12 brownies, which should equal about 47.5mg THC per serving— whoa!

I cannot wait to sit down by the fireplace with a cold glass of my favorite oat milk, these tasty infused brownies, and the movie Elf.

However you decide to spend your holidays this year, from all of us at Hashtag, we wish you a happy holiday season. Please have a safe, relaxing holiday weekend and a happy, happy New Year!
