Sex and Cannabis for Beginners

Sex is awesome, whether it’s with a partner, more than one partner, or with yourself. And cannabis is awesome, too! But have you ever intentionally combined this amazing plant with your sexual experiences? At Hashtag, we fully support your explorations, your combinations, and your mission to experience all the ways that cannabis can enhance the pleasure of sex.

For people with vaginas, topical products infused with THC and/or CBD increase sensitivity by increasing circulation where they are applied. We encourage applying infused topicals to the clit, labia, and inside the vagina for the most benefit. Let the experience kick in over 30 minutes or so, and voila! You’re ready for an adventure. It’s important to keep in mind that some cannabis-infused lubricants, like Bond Oil are not safe for use with latex condoms; others, like O Lube, are latex safe.

For people with penises, the same topical products will work when applied anally, where tissue walls are thin enough for THC and CBD to penetrate. The penis’s tissue is too thick for absorption of infused topicals.

And everybody benefits from smoking or vaporizing flower strains that have been cultivated for their aphrodisiac effects. Sweetwater Farms grows Huckleberry Pie, an indica dominant strain that smells and tastes earthy and sweet. The cross strains of Blueberry and Cherry Pie provide heavy doses of the terpenes myrcene, caryophyllene, and pinene. Huckleberry Pie is a beautiful, chunky bud with a pungent, fruity nose. An extremely smooth and fruity smoke makes this Indica dominant strain a great high to do whatever it is you please.

Another flower strain is Canna Sutra, grown by Vashon Velvet. This indica dominant strain has an aroma of citrus, forest floor, and cheddar cheese. The genetics combine Reclining Buddha and Sensi Star, with a terpene profile of myrcene, caryophyllene, and limonene.  The owner of Vashon Velvet, Susie Gres, says, “I searched the world for a cannabis strain that would be an effective aphrodisiac for women (men have entirely different CB receptor distribution), and I finally found it in our Canna Sutra strain. Women’s reproductive systems are rich in CB 1 and CB 2 receptors, and a little smoke of Canna Sutra can work wonders.”
